The Dodo Pub Co., who have a name for themselves in Oxford, have ventured out of the city and opened up a new place in (the rather fabulous) Cheltenham. Their latest baby is called The Bottle of Sauce, and if you’re wondering where it is, you may remember the building as the pub by the bowling green, which nobody could pronounce the name of – The Quaich!

This time of year is super busy: What with buying pressies, wrapping them, putting up the Christmas decs, attending parties and nursing hangovers. All of that leaves very little time for food (although somehow we manage to consume more during December than any other time). If you’re anything like me, you’ll need something a little more substantial than the Galaxy Caramels plucked from a tub of Celebrations, so I’ve found the best local places serving up good food in double quick time. So, you can have your cake, eat it and go to the ball!

Paparrito’s hit the Cheltenham fast-food scene a while back, wanting to offer something a wee bit healthier than the usual fat-laden takeaways to those on the run. Since then, they’ve gotten themselves a huge following of burrito-loving people, their menu has grown (just a tiny weeny bit) and they’ve even had a make-over.

If you’re from London or you frequent the capital, you’ll know about a pizza place called Franco Manca. They do the whole sourdough base thing and they do it well, but here in Gloucestershire we do it even better, thanks to Fat Toni’s.
