Local Eat Treats #24 Local Restaurant Food Delivered to our Door

I don’t know if you’ve heard yet or not, but you can now get restaurant food delivered to your door in Cheltenham by the fabulous Deliveroo guys and gals.

This is so much more than your usual take-out. For a start, you have more to choose from than Chinese, Indian and Pizza (although that is still an option for the traditionalists). You simply pop in your postcode and the website comes up with a list of your local restaurants available at that time for you to order from. In terms of the types of food you can order, we’re talking smoothies, pasta, pizza, burgers, skin-on chips, sushi, roast dinner and even ice cream! Now that got your attention didn’t it?!

We have often used Deliveroo before now with our go to favourite of Real Burger, but today we thought we’d try a restaurant we’ve been wanting to go to for a while now: Thai Brasserie.

I’m sure I don’t have to sell the benefits of eating in rather than eating out, but just in case you need a bit of gentle persuasion, here’s a few things that appeal to me: I don’t have to get out of my leggings, I don’t need to draw my eyebrows on, and with Christmas just round the corner, it allowed me to get some more jobs done in the house whilst waiting for our food to arrive.

The delivery takes no time at all, ours arrived within 30 minutes, and so in the comfort of our own home, we tucked into our Thai feast. We ordered Mixed Starters (which serves two and includes Chicken Satay, Prawn Toast, Vegetable Spring Roll, Prawn Crackers, Prawn Tempura and Thai Fish Cake), Beef Pad Thai, Thai Duck Curry and Sticky Rice.

Call us strange but we’ve come this far through life without ever trying Pad Thai, and luckily, it got the thumbs up from us, but the winning dish was the Thai Duck Curry: A perfect combination of spiciness, fruitiness and tender meat.

Paparrito’s is next on our Deliveroo hit-list. We’ve often popped in for a burrito whilst we are doing our shopping in town, so it’ll be great to eat it in the comfort of our own home without being surrounded by shopping bags!

P.s Deliveroo are running a #SpotASanta competition until 23rd December where you can win up to a year’s worth of Deliveroo! More info can be found here.
