There’s just a few sleeps to go till the big fat man comes down the chimney and so we thought we’d celebrate with a Christmas meal – of sorts.
Simpsons, our local eat-in chippy, was the restaurant of choice. Okay, so I’m aware that fish and chips doesn’t really seem all that Christmassy, but how about deep fried Christmas pudding?! Have I got your attention now?
We had a glass of good old bucks fizz to wash down our fish and chips, and in true Roseann and Kingsley style, we ordered a few extra sides: Curry sauce and mushy peas for dunking, and a mushy pea fritter – just because.
And then onto the real reason for our visit – the dessert. Served in bite-sized pieces, that had been battered and deep-fried; this version of Christmas pudding was the first I have ever enjoyed. It was blimmin’ lovely.
