Local Eat Treats #6 Afternoon Tea at Ellenborough Park

My best friend turned thirty recently and so to celebrate, we spent a whole afternoon at the wonderful Ellenborough Park in Cheltenham, indulging in their afternoon tea in The Great Hall.

I’ve mentioned before that I’m not the biggest fan of tea (read here) apart from when it’s accompanied by three tiers of sandwiches, scones and cake! And being one of those exact situations, I opted for Early Grey, and Tara chose the Pear Caramel tea; and together we made our way through half a dozen pots of the stuff throughout the afternoon!

For four hours. Yes four whole hours, we sat putting the world to rights and eating our way through a selection of delicious sandwiches, two heavenly scones each and a whole plate of naughty cakes and pastries. The full menu can be viewed here.

And it’s not just the food that’s beautiful at the impressive Ellenborough Park.

  1. The afternoon tea here looks really beautiful. The Ellenborough park hotel is on my list of places to stay.

    1. I'm lucky enough to live nearby, but if there was a good excuse for an overnight stay, I'm sure it would be absolutely amazing! The spa needs a visit too!
